News: Cover Art For Darren Shan's Palace of the Damned!

Darren Shan is once again gearing up for the release of another horrific beaut. This time in the shape of the third and penultimate book of The Saga of Larten Crepsley. Palace of the Damned is due to be published here in the UK at the end of September and in the US just a few weeks later. And now Darren has revealed the cover art. Minus the titlework and his name so that we can appreciate just the image itself with no obscurity. It's stunning, check it out below and leave your thoughts in the comments!

Cannot wait to read this one!

Cover Art: The Death Cure by James Dashner

Now I freaking loved The Maze Runner by James Dashner which was released here in the UK last Summer! I couldn't wait to get the second book, The Scorch Trials, but it's not even out here till August and it came out in America last year so a week or two ago now, I ordered the US hardback edition. Initially last October when it came out, I didn't like the cover, a reason  why I hadn't ordered it sooner, but it did start to grow on me and I finally said, enough waiting, I don't care, but when I opened that package I fell in love. Amazing cover art. So beautiful in person. And so a week or so ago now, I eagerly awaited the cover release for the third and final book in the trilogy. It's called The Death Cure and is out in America on 11th October and I shall be shipping my copy in! Check out the cover below!!!

News: Immortal War Cover Art Released

At long last folks, the cover art for the final Vampirates book, Immortal War has been released. And it is a BEAUTY!!!

I first saw the cover in the 2011 stocklist booklet for Simon and Schuster UK Children's Books. Bare in mind it was a teeny tiny little pic, and I commented to Justin about the cover who said that the foil has certainly been cracked open! I cannot wait to see this in the flesh! :D

News: The Power of Six Cover Art!

The Power of Six is the second book of The Lorien Legacies by Pittacus Lore. It continues the tale of nine aliens hidden as humans as they hide awaiting news/and hoping to return, to their home planet of Lorien. Like I Am Number Four, there are going to be two covers. One is the adult edition, and the other the YA edition! Check them out below!!

Pretty good stuff huh?! The green one is the adult edition, and the blue one the YA. I like both. I like the simplicity of the adult edition but also like the different effects and layers to the YA one! Either way, it's out on  23rd August!

A Round Up: Scorpia Rising Second Trailer, Time Riders 4 and Oceans of Blood

Okay, so it's time for a bit of a catch up on all things bookish!

A few days ago I posted the trailer for Anthony Horowitz' long awaited final Alex Rider adventure, Scorpia Rising (for which I am uber massively, super amazingly, humdingingly excited for!!!). Well now Walker Books have released the second trailer and it's blooming brilliant. I love how much they're putting in to this book, the promo and everything so far, the designs, it's all so top notch. Bravo, Walker, Bravo! 11 DAYS TO GO!

Now, towards the start of the year, I brought Time Riders by Alex Scarrow. I'd been meaning to do so for a long long time but finally, I got around to it. I read it. Loved it. And have a review written in my notebook somewhere, which just needs to be taken from rough to final and will be coming soon. Looking forward to reading the second book, Day of the Predator and Book 3 released earlier this year, The Doomsday Code. But now Alex has announced the title and cover for Book Four! Out on 4th August, The Eternal War looks set to take on the American civil war. Check out the awesome cover below! I for one am looking forward to it!

And finally, something else exciting coming in in the next few months! The second book in Darren Shan's The Saga of Larten Crepsley! I loved Birth of a Killer when it came out last year and have been looking forward to this for ages! Ocean of Blood is out in May and below is the brilliant cover! Darren always has such brilliant covers! Bravo Harper Collins!

Exciting stuff, eh?!

Cover Watch: Witchfinder 3 and Scorpia Rising

Some beautiful covers have been released over the last few weeks! 2 such beauties right here!

The first is for The Last Nightfall, the third and final book in William Hussey's brilliant Witchfinder trilogy. It's out in September 2011 and sounds amazing! Check out the cover and the synopsis below!

With a sickening jolt, Jake realized that everything before this had been just a prelude to terror. Now he could see and hear the darkness of demonkind. Now he had reached the Shore of Damnation. Now he had truly entered Hell . . . The Demon Father has taken control of the United Kingdom. He is on a mission to open the door to the demon realm, destroying all of humankind. Jake would go to hell and back to stop him . . . but will that be enough?

And the second beaut to be revealed is the cover for the ninth and final of Anthony Horowitz' Alex Rider series, Scorpia Rising. Out on 31st March, and strictly embargoed, it is set to close the series with a collossal bang! Check out the stunning cover which is sure to stand out below, as well as the synopsis!

"This gripping final mission brings together Alex Rider's old enemies to frame the teenage superspy in an unstoppable plot of revenge, from which he can never return. Pursued from Europe to North Africa and Cairo's city of the dead - this is the twistiest and most deadly plot of any Alex Rider mission yet, and will reveal Smithers' ultimate gadget and see the shock death of a major character."

NEWS: Cover for US Forever Released

Just a little while ago, Maggie Stiefvater revealed the US cover art for Forever, the third and final book in The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy. I really enjoyed the first 2 books, Shiver and Linger (reviews here and here) so am looking forward to this, and seeing what our cover looks for. The UK has black and white covers so looking forward to seeing that variation of it. But for now, you can see the US cover below in all it's red glory! It's published July 2011!

News: Gallows At Twilight Cover Art

How incredibly amazing does this look? This is the stunning cover art for the second book in William Hussey's phenomenal Witchfinder trilogy. Gallows At Twilight is published in January (2011), and I for one simply cannot wait. It is one of my, if not my most, anticipated released coming up. The first book, Dawn of the Demontide is among my favourite books of all time. Check out the synopsis for Gallows At Twilight...

"Eight pale hands – some with fingers stripped down to the bone – rose out of the earth. Slimy with rain, the rat-gnawed heads of four soldiers loomed into view. They moaned at the sky and their cry moulded itself into a word: ‘FLLLLLLEEESSSSSSSSHHHHH!’

The Demon Father has escaped from hell and walks among us, his trident symbol branded into the earth in countries all over the world. A scorching beacon. A call to arms. A sign that war is coming.

Jake is struggling to harness his powers and live up to his reputation of the boy who closed the demon door. But now he must push all doubt aside. To stop the Demon Father Jake must change the course of history – embark on a treacherous journey deep into the past and into another dimension, filled with horror and pain. A place where innocent people are tried and tortured. A place where the law of the Witchfinder rules. Let the rushes be lit for there will be gallows at twilight."

Sounds amazing huh? Well there's plenty of time for you to go and get Dawn of the Demontide before Gallows comes out. So what are you waiting for? Buy buy buy! You won't be disappointed. Need more persuasion, click here for my review from March.

News: Cover art for Michelle Paver's Dark Matter

Click picture to enlarge!

So here it is. The cover art for Michelle Paver's brand new book, Dark Matter, out on 21st October. What you think? I love it!

Here's the synopsis: 'What is it? What does it want? Why is it angry with me?' January 1937 Clouds of war are gathering over a fogbound London. Twenty-eight year old Jack is poor, lonely and desperate to change his life. So when he's offered the chance to be the wireless operator on an Arctic expedition, he jumps at it. Spirits are high as the ship leaves Norway: five men and eight huskies, crossing the Barents Sea by the light of the midnight sun. At last they reach the remote, uninhabited bay where they will camp for the next year. Gruhuken. But the Arctic summer is brief. As night returns to claim the land, Jack feels a creeping unease. One by one, his companions are forced to leave. He faces a stark choice. Stay or go. Soon he will see the last of the sun, as the polar night engulfs the camp in months of darkness. Soon he will reach the point of no return - when the sea will freeze, making escape impossible. And Gruhuken is not uninhabited. Jack is not alone. Something walks there in the dark.
